RUPLASTICA : A Pinnacle Event for the Plastics and Rubbers Industry

The culmination of the International Specialized Exhibition of Plastics and Rubbers, RUPLASTICA 2023, in Moscow marked a confident start to the season of industry events. The conclusion of the 2023 edition was a significant milestone for both organizers and participants. Formerly known under a different name, the project unveiled its new identity and updated concept, reiterating its relevance and significance in the industry.

a prominent player in the Russian raw materials supply chain, showcased its offerings at booth FOE56 in the Forum Hall. As one of the largest suppliers of master batch, fillers, polyethylene, and compounds, Ehda Polymer plays a pivotal role in the industry.

 

The triumvirate of exhibitions – RUPLASTICA for plastics and rubbers, UPAKEXPO for packaging, printing, and bottling technologies, and RECYCLING SOLUTIONS for waste processing and disposal technologies – served as a testament to the resilience of business and its ongoing development amid external challenges.

The event saw the participation of over 500 exhibitors from 16 countries, drawing approximately 25,000 visitors from Russia and neighboring nations. This robust attendance, reaching levels comparable to January 2020, reflected the positive dynamics and the industry’s readiness to persist and thrive amidst a changing market landscape.

The Expocentre pavilions buzzed with a lively and optimistic atmosphere, fostering high-quality business contacts. Noteworthy success stories emerged from participants like NPP Poliplastik and Interplast, which reported conducting hundreds of productive meetings during the exhibition.

Major industry leaders and numerous Russian and foreign companies such as Polyplastic, HAITIAN, SIBUR Holding, PJSC LUKOIL-RNP-TRADING, AtlasMash, and others converged at RUPLASTICA 2023. This convergence demonstrated their commitment to showcasing the stability of their operations and their readiness to swiftly adapt to changing conditions, providing customers with high-quality and adaptive solutions.

Anton Pinenkov, General Director of Chemical Industry LLC, expressed his satisfaction with the event, emphasizing the substantial flow of people. He highlighted RUPLASTICA’s role in facilitating face-to-face communication, an aspect that gained renewed importance in the current times.

Turkish companies like Hurmak, Akdeniz, Chemson, Akkaya, Enformak, Alarge, Demak, Novoma, Dersan, Haskil, Konex, Mikrosan, and Vikotech presented a diverse array of equipment, technologies, and services to the Russian professional community.

International participation extended beyond Turkey, with companies from Italy, China, Iran, and India making a significant impact. Zhinesh Shah, Vice President of RAJOO ENGINEERS LIMITED (India), expressed happiness at the positive response and highlighted the growing partnership between Russia and India.

RUPLASTICA 2023 featured the official launch of the RECYCLING SOLUTIONS section, dedicated to recycling technologies, waste disposal, and related areas. Pavilion 2.2 brought together major players in the processing industry, contributing to the development of recycling in Russia and the CIS.

Companies like Atlasmash, EcoProm24, MSK Polymer, Gran Garo, Aleko Machinery, GranPlast, DPL Polymer, Europolymer-Trading, and others showcased their equipment for plastic recycling, packaging, and the processing of waste plastic, wood, rubber, and paper.

Leading industry players demonstrated their commitment to environmental development by introducing initiatives for responsible consumption. SIBUR Holding, for instance, presented Vivilen bottles containing recycled polyethylene terephthalate, emphasizing the use of recycled plastic in production.

Companies like EKOPROM24 LLC expressed their readiness to cover the equipment needs for both small enterprises and large full-cycle factories, addressing the challenges of import substitution and providing turnkey production lines.

An integral part of the exhibition was the specialized project Additive Minded, dedicated to additive technologies and 3D printing. Held for the sixth time, the Additive Minded exposition in Pavilion 2.3 featured companies like U3Print (KAZAR LLC), Engineering Consulting Center, Stereotech, Leader 3D, AP-Project, ANISOPRINT RUS, JETCOM, Objectronics, and LIDER-3D.

The business platforms in Pavilion 2.3, uniting POLYMER PLAZA, RECYCLING SOLUTIONS, and ADDITIVE MINDED, became crucial for business dialogue. These platforms addressed current challenges in the industry, covering topics such as transformation, development, import substitution, new logistics, and prospects.

The RECYCLING SOLUTIONS business program delved into issues of waste management systems, separate collection in Russia, and the development of a circular economy. The Additive Minded Talks conference featured lectures and master classes by global and local market experts, providing insights into industrial additive technologies.

The success of RUPLASTICA, UPAKEXPO, and RECYCLING SOLUTIONS in 2023 prompted the organizers to plan regional events in the CIS countries. “RUPLASTICA & UPAKEXPO Meeting Point Tashkent” in April, “RUPLASTICA & UPAKEXPO Meeting Point Yekaterinburg” in July, and “RUPLASTICA & UPAKEXPO Meeting Point Astana” in September are anticipated events. This formidable trio showcased the resilience and vitality of businesses in navigating external challenges, providing a testament to the enduring spirit of industry development.

A remarkable assembly of more than 500 exhibitors from 16 countries populated the exhibition, beckoning the attention of approximately 25,000 visitors from Russia and neighboring nations. Companies like Hurmak, Akdeniz, Chemson, Akkaya, Enformak, Alarge, Demak, Novoma, Dersan, Haskil, Konex, Mikrosan, Vikotech showcased a diverse range of equipment, technologies, and services to the Russian professional community.

Adding a unique dimension to RUPLASTICA 2023, the specialized project Additive Minded dedicated to additive technologies and 3D printing held its ground for the sixth time. Stands in this segment attracted a plethora of professional visitors eager to explore the latest in equipment and technologies.

In this dynamic segment, companies like Stereotech, Anisoprint, Objectronics, and LIDER-3D presented cutting-edge developments. Stereotech showcased its 5D printer with 5Dtech technology, Anisoprint unveiled a technology for printing functional parts from composites reinforced with continuous fibers, Objectronics displayed its industrial printer Elegoo Neptune 3 Plus, and LIDER-3D presented a variety of FDM 3D printers, among other innovations.

Pavilion 2.3 emerged as a central hub, hosting the specialized events POLYMER PLAZA, RECYCLING SOLUTIONS, and ADDITIVE MINDED, creating a platform for robust business dialogues. Industry leaders and experts from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, SIBUR companies, Aditim, Union of Plastic Processors, Georg Polymer, RAPEX, Optimalog, Danaflex, Polyplastic, Formotronic, and others took the stage to discuss current challenges, transformation, development, and prospects.

 

A comprehensive exploration of recycling, waste management systems, and the imperative of a circular economy unfolded during the RECYCLING SOLUTIONS business program. Representatives from PPK REO, Ecoline Group, RT-Invest Recycling, Razdelny Sbor Movement, Ecopolis Corporation, Unilever, and others shared valuable insights and knowledge.

The emphasis on responsible consumption and the popularization of textile processing carried forward seamlessly into the expert Public Talk as part of the RECYCLING SOLUTIONS business program. The experimental session delved into effective ways to integrate the system of collecting unnecessary items into the clothing and textile industry, fostering new habits among Russian residents, and accelerating Russia’s transition to a circular economy.

As the curtains close on RUPLASTICA 2023, the exhibition organizers extend heartfelt gratitude to all participants and visitors.
